I would update when it felt right, and never force myself to stick to a schedule. This usually meant I would update a little more often because I had taken the pressure off. It also means I can not update for over a month when life gets in the way–like right now: we are moving–and I don’t feel like I’ve failed.

Good luck with the new approach. I’ll be watching for updates when you do post.
