Something’s Different, A Christmas Poem
Something’s different
Something’s not right
Sure it is Christmas
Yet that doesn’t seem fitting
For today feels like any time of the year
Which is why I’m quite contrite
Something’s different
Something’s not right
Sure it is Christmas
Yet that doesn’t seem fitting
For today feels like any time of the year
Which is why I’m quite contrite

I like it. I think it’s true for a lot of us as we grow up and realize that growing up isn’t so much like we expected it to be as kids. It’s harder in a lot of ways and things that were just taken care of or expected to happen as kids don’t. Things like siblings being at family events/Christmas, because they get married and have two families to decide between.
